This weekend we needed to get some last minute items taken care of on our shopping lists. Riley was a great sport all day Saturday as we hopped from one mall to the next, crossing items off of our lists.
But we were all glad to be home Saturday night, just chillin' and relaxing together.
Riley was probably OK since some of the items that were purchased were for her. Sunday was followed up with some light shopping and working around the house on chores. Karen knocked out some sweets for the guys at work and I knocked out the ironing for the week, all while Riley just hung out and played with some of her toys.
You know we love spending every waking moment right by Riley's side, but we have come to the realization that she too needs some down time away from us...time to explore on her own. And she is okay with playing on her own for short periods of time. Of course, we stay in the same room and check in with her often, so she knows that we haven't forgotten about her...but she can be quite independent for a four month old.
It's amazing how quickly December is coming to a close. We are looking forward to seeing everyone around the holidays. All we want for Christmas...warm weather in the Midwest for holidays.
