Road Trip

Riley really racked up a lot of firsts this Christmas season. On Sunday, we headed out of the Cincy area to meet up with the Blagg clan, which meant...Riley's first road trip. She has had some mini trips in the past, but nothing over an hour in the car.
Aunt Mary was very generous and loaned us her car for the trip, so we loaded up the Camry and headed down to Lanesville (outside Louisville) at 7 a.m. Riley once again was a real trooper and did not wake up till we were just outside Louisville. We stopped at the rest stop so Riley could top off her tank and we could stretch a little.

After the pit stop we were back on the road again and were soon at Amy's apartment. Riley got to spend some time with Nana and Gramps,

while also spending some time with her cousins, aunts and uncle.

After a little lunch, it was time to get in the car again and drive over to the mall to have family pictures taken. Once again, we were surprised at how Riley rolled with the punches and was well behaved. She did have one fussy period on the way back from the pictures, as she was starving, but once we returned to Amy's to feed her, she was back to her smiles and raspberries.

Since Jase's birthday was December 30th, we celebrated with a special cake just for him. He was "king" of the castle!

The remainder of the time in Lanesville was spent opening presents and enjoying family. We took lots of video footage for memories.

Late in the night we packed back up and made the hard ride back to Cincy. This time Riley slept through the entire road trip, not waking until we were in the house with Aunt Mary.
Thanks Aunt Amy for hosting Christmas...we had a wonderful time!!!!

Sweet Pea, it was so good to see you and Mommy and Daddy. You really brighten Nana's Christmas. I already miss you all very much. Can't wait to see you in April. Love and lots and lots of kisses, Nana
