Although we don't make it to the gym during the week, JD and I try to hit the gym on Saturday and Sunday mornings. We have always taken turns, since the arrival of Riley...so we wouldn't have to take her to daycare again. However, today, we thought we would try something new.
So, after breakfast and some morning playtime, we all headed off to the gym. We thought we would just try taking Riley to the childcare center at the gym, so working out wouldn't take up our entire morning.
The childcare center is awesome...with all kinds of play zones for the kids. They even have a computer center! Riley is not quite old enough for the free roaming areas, but the infant area is perfect...filled with bouncers, swings, exersaucers, and a fun play mat. The best part, Riley was the only infant at that time, so she had one-on-one fun.
With Riley starting to show signs of stranger anxiety over the past week or two, I wasn't sure how well she would do with a new place and all new faces. I thought for sure we would be called over the PA to return to the childcare center...as that is how they notify you when your child is not exactly cooperating.
Surprisingly enough...no calls, which made me even more anxious. With just a quick workout accomplished, we thought we would call it a day, and pick-up our sweetie to head home. Needless to say...she did grrrreat at the childcare center...giving us some big smiles when we picked her up.
She was so worn out from watching the other kiddos play, that she napped for 2 hours and 45 min. when we got home!
