Actually, despite the weather over the past week or so, we have gone out and about quite a bit. Last week, Riley and I headed across the street to the Hensley's for a visit. They have a 4 month old - Hudson, who will make for a wonderful playmate by next year when he is a bit older and an 8 year old - Ryder. We also had them over for dinner last Wednesday, since Bonnie's husband was working late.
Yesterday we ventured to new territory across the river to Hixon. We met up with our friend that we met at The Little Gym - Courtney, but her daughter Lauren, who is almost 11 months, stayed home for some bonding time with her dad. We hit up a great kids consignment sale. Who knew there would be such great deals on gently used, and sometimes even new kids gear - toys, clothes, strollers, games...you name it! Riley came away with two new toys, a book, CD, 2 shirts and one play outfit for only 25 bucks! Sweet deal - Thanks Courtney for the inside tip...can't wait for the next one in October.
(The best part...the toys are required to have batteries, so you know they work!)
This morning, we attended a neighborhood brunch, which was a great opportunity to get to know some of the other ladies in our subdivision and learn about other social events coming up. It was great of our host to allow Riley and two other children to attend, as kids can be a bit rowdy. I am proud to say that Riley was very good and shared the few toys that we took along with another toddler. The main entertainment for both girls...two little dogs...which both girls enjoyed following around.
