Downtown Chatt

Thursday was the perfect day to head downtown Chattanooga. I came up with the crazy idea to head out before Riley's nap time, thinking she could possibly nap in her stroller while we enjoyed a walk across the walking bridge and around the North Shore. What was I thinking??? Riley fell asleep in the car for about 15 minutes, and as soon as I took her out of her car seat into the nice afternoon breeze, she was awake, but not too happy. I tried putting her in her stroller for our walk, hoping she would go back to sleep...but she didn't...thus the grumpy Riley. (There is just something about strollers that Riley is not fond of.) So, we still walked the bridge, taking turns carrying our not so little Sweet Pea.

Thankfully, some cookies saved the day and convinced Riley to sit a little more peacefully in her stroller while we walked Coolidge Park.

After enjoying the fresh fall air, we headed to Riley's favorite stop downtown...The Children's Discovery Museum. We swear she knew exactly where we were headed after getting out of the car...as all of a sudden...she was filled with enough energy to walk with Grammy and Aunt Mary down the block to the entrance (and the grumpies...they even disappeared).

Riley showed off all of her favorite nooks and crannies in the Little Yellow House. She even remembered that the button on the dog's nose made the dog bark.

And yes...grown ups can have a ton of fun in the Little Yellow House too!

Before heading home, we ventured back across the river for an early dinner at the North Shore Grill. We sat right by the open bay window, which was perfect entertainment for a little girl going on only a 15 min. nap. Dinner was most excellent...but we were all worn out and ready to put our feet up for the evening!
