Riley loves the little trunk on her walker...especially when we hide things inside. The door is a little tricky to get open, and it's fun to watch her work through her frustration to get to the "prize inside". Mighty Girl sometimes needs a closer look before reaching inside...
I guess that is not a bad idea...after all, this is Texas...and you never know where you will find little critters hiding about (you know lizards, scorpions, spiders).
This time though...just her Cabbage Patch Baby's bottle of powder. She loves chewing on this and her Baby's fake bottle too!
At Riley's 9 month check-up, Dr. Davis gave us the green light to introducing soft table foods...of course fruits and veggies, but also bits of bread with butter, cheese and even yogurt. Of course we started experimenting right away! We probably went over board with the first bite of a "bread" product...a teeny tiny bite of my pancakes on Mother's Day.
Can you tell that one bite was more than enough???
So, we picked up some yogurt melts for Riley to sample. As you can tell, she loves them...often cramming 2 or 3 in her mouth at one time.
This week, I have also offered small bites of banana at breakfast. We are definitely still in the experimental phase. She will usually feed herself one or two bites...then the rest she will grab and mush it in her hand...very messy! The banana is kind of slippery to hold onto, so I think mushing it is a way for Riley to express her frustration with trying to pick it up.
Baby steps...Riley is not quite ready for soft table foods yet. She definitely prefers soft blended baby food. Perhaps her new tooth will help change her mind over the coming weeks.

I see that our little sweet pea is like aunt Mary. She likes to eat but is still picky.
Love Aunt Mary
