22 Months and 3 Weeks

Riley is just a couple months away from turning 2 years old! Our little Sweet Pea is not so little anymore. She is an active toddler, growing and changing so much with each passing day. She is so much fun to be around and makes everyone smile with her animated personality. Riley is literally non-stop play all day long! As you can see...it doesn't take much to entertain our little monkey! (Yes...those are socks on her hands!)

At least she found her mittens this time!

At 22 months Riley:

• still loves ELMO, but is becoming crazy about Thomas the Train! (We wish we lived closer to her cousin Ethan, as he has so many cool trains that she could share.)
• is talking up a storm...repeating everything and anything.
• loves to swim in her blow-up pool and play with bubbles.
• really, really, loves to do just about anything OUTSIDE!
• is a big helper! She loves to help change Zach's diapers, but she also will help with just about any chore around the house that we will allow.
• can sing almost the entire alphabet. She gets stumped sometimes on the middle section from "h" to "p".
• is beginning to understand consequences to help make good choices.
• still loves when we read to her. Favorite book right now: "The Little Engine That Could".
• likes having tea parties, coloring and building with blocks with her Daddy.
• sings along to songs and requests all of her favorites when in the car.
• is more affectionate than ever...giving away hugs and kisses, mostly to her little brother, but to us and visitors as well.

Zachary - 3 weeks old...so, so sweet, loves to snuggle up with anyone for a snooze on your chest, but you have to be careful...he has a gentle little snore that will soothe you right to sleep with him.

Zach has already started a routine to waking at night. He has his last bottle around 9:00 p.m., then wakes up at 1:45 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Not too bad considering he is only 3 weeks old. When Zach is awake, he will sometimes stay up for 3-4 hours at a time and enjoys looking around and listening to all the sounds around him. He is very strong and can hold his head up for short periods during tummy time and lift his head from side to side.

It's hard to believe how much he has grown in such a short time...already filling out some of his newborn onesies and night time t-shirts. We are very fortunate that he has quite the mellow personality right now...just going with the flow our busy days!
