First stop...to see some monkeys...and not just fake ones...
but real ones too. Unfortunately, these monkeys were a bit lethargic, so not a lot of action for Riley to observe.
Fortunately, there were many other animals that were more than active in the late afternoon hour. We had never seen snakes in action in a zoo exhibit before, and the snakes at the Misunderstood Marvels were alive, and on the move...along with the iguanas and grave robbers.
It must have been close to dinner time for the animals, as the more we walked and saw, the more active the animals became...like the peacock, who kept strutting his stuff!
The petting zoo is always Daddy's favorite spot.
The Chattanooga Zoo may not even begin to compare to zoos in bigger cities, but there were some hidden hide-a-ways that offered adventure throughout the tour.

After leaving the animals to rest for the evening, we headed a couple miles down the road for dinner at The Boathouse, which overlooks the river.

Nana and Gramps wanted to enjoy some one-on-one time with Riley, and so, offered to babysit for us, so JD and I could go out on the town, for what might just be one last hurrah, before the arrival of Zachary. Thank you Nana and Gramps...This night out was much needed!

How fun! We've been wanting to go there! You have to call me asap when you go into labor :)
It looks like Sweet Pean knew where she wanted to go, MOM. You were headed in the wrong direction. Looks like a fabulous time was had by all
