She obviously couldn't wait to go for a rid in her new VW coupe (aka Princess Coupe). And believe it or not...she even figured out exactly how to install the steering wheel.
Riley can be a bit inpatient at times. She tried handing tools and parts to her daddy to hurry up the process, but thought she could just sneak a ride during the middle of the assembly.
After a quick dinner break, JD had Riley's new coupe assembled for some new and exciting indoor fun...as it is way too cold to be outside right now.
It was so cold overnight, that it snowed all Saturday morning. Riley loved watching the big flakes fall to the ground from the family room.
We wish we would have had time to stick around and play in the cold snow, but with Riley's cold and a make-up class scheduled at The Little Gym...we had to hit the road early. For various reasons we have missed a few classes, and Saturday morning is the best time for us to make them up as a family. Daddy and Nana both had a great time watching Riley's acrobatic moves.
The wheelbarrow
Chasing bubbles with my piggies.
Surprisingly, the first activity that Riley ran to during open gym time...the balance beam. She usually resists the beam, but today, she could hardly stay away from it! She even walked forward facing, one foot after another. Awesome!
Silly monkey on the rings...tongue hanging out and all!
Today, Mr. Keith spotted the kids as they did the wheelbarrow and a forward roll on the beam. Whoa!
After the gym, we took Nana downtown to check out the Creative Discovery Museum. Riley couldn't wait to show off all of the rooms in the Little Yellow House.
Now that Riley is getting older, she is more open to exploring other areas of the museum, so we did spend more time this trip exploring the Performing Arts Gallery. All of the musical instruments were a hit.
Daddy had quite a knack for some tunes on the harp.
The percussion room seemed to be Riley's favorite. We spent a little time in the stage room and playing the piano, but all of the drums, kept calling Riley back.
Worn out from all of the excitement of our morning, Riley ate a good lunch then had a nice long afternoon nap. She was well rested for an evening of fun with Nana, while JD and I enjoyed an evening out at a holiday party. Nana's report was of course, no less than perfect!
Thank you Nana for coming to town to spend time with all of us and to babysit Riley so we could enjoy and evening out. We hope your drive home was peaceful and relaxing and we can't wait to see you again.
Love,
JD, Karen and Riley

oh I love it!! And I so wish we were at that class at the Little Gym. The mountain was a little too snowy :) I love the museum pictures. We'll have to take the girls together one day. I've been wanting to go!
It looks like you had a great time Sweet Pea w/Nana. I am so glad that you had a chance to have some one on one with her. And what a great gift Santa brought you. You will be styling in the neighborhood and even maybe taking your little brother or sister a ride in it to. I love you bunches
