Riley loved her new puzzle and hot pink purse, but wasn't too sure about the birthday cupcake. She had a ball smearing the icing everywhere and diving in to mush the cake, but not once did any get to her lips (except for the smudge that I put there). We'll have to practice before the "official" party in a couple of weeks.
Just where was Riley on her big birthday weekend??? Where else, but in the great city where she was born. Daddy even rolled out the red carpet for her big bash...Flying her into San Antonio first class.

It truly was a wonderful weekend in San Antonio, where we celebrated Riley's first birthday. Although just a quick trip in and out of the city, we managed to squeeze in a few fun trips, like touring Bass Pro Shop. As you can see Riley would rather push the stroller than sit in it.
Daddy is trying to butter us girls up to buy him a boat. I think Riley is falling for it!
Riley enjoyed spending time in front of the large aquarium. Do you know she actually put her arm around me while taking in the action of the large mouth bass...how sweet!!!
Our primary purpose of taking one last trip to the great city of SA...to have Riley's 12 month photos taken by Sara K Blanco...Our album wouldn't be complete without this last session.
So, Riley is officially 12 months old...my oh my...where has the last year gone? Riley Elizabeth has turned our world upside down (in a most fantastic way)! She has reminded us life's most simple pleasures and has given us so much love and happiness. We love you Sweet Pea...You truly are the most adorable one year old!

It looks like you had an amazing 1st Birthday. From first class flying to an amazing view from your hotel room, your crown and cake (YUM) and your wonderful mommy and daddy that made it all possible. Here's a hint for you Sweet Pea, since you have your daddy wrapped around your fingers I know he will get that boat for your birthday. Love all of you bunches
