and all the silly goofy times.
Upon our return from San Antonio, we had some unfinished birthday business that couldn't wait until the party...we had lots of fun loving cards to open.
And one of the cards even sang the sweetest one year old birthday song. Riley was so excited about the music, she couldn't quite keep the card open long enough to hear the entire song. We play with it a little each day.
Notice Riley's first gift card below...Should we wait for Daddy to come home to hit the local Dairy Queen??? (Thanks Aunt Christine...this gift might be the biggest hit of all...Riley has definitely inherited the Allgeier sweet tooth)!
After enjoying more birthday excitement, we settled back into our routine, of hitting the YMCA, then venturing out to different hot spots. Imagination Station is a great little park with a huge playground, train, swings and walking trail. Riley still isn't a fan of swinging, but she enjoying playing with a few other hands-on activities.
We also found the perfect little bakery in Collegedale, just 10 minutes from our house. Collegedale is the home of Little Debbie snack cakes...no wonder this bakery is soooo wonderful. We took home a cupcake to sample before placing an order for the party cake. This was good practice for Riley. As you can see...the cake will be a huge hit at the party...she absolutely loves smearing the icing and cake everywhere...except in her mouth. I think more practice may be needed! (Anything for an excuse to pick up a cupcake or two over the next couple of weeks.)
Can't wait to see everyone in a few weeks.
Love,
Karen and Riley
