Riley hasn't quite settled into a solid routine yet. She has been waking up earlier with each passing day. Today she woke up at 6:30 a.m., and took only the one nap. Although it was a big nap, she could still use a small cat-nap before dinner, to keep the grumpies away before bath and bedtime, however, this may take another week or two of convincing.
Late this afternoon, we ventured out to Walmart, came home for dinner, then spent a bit of the evening playing in the backyard. Since we don't have anything too exciting in the backyard yet, Riley will usually just sit and play with the grass, leaves, and whatever other treasures she finds in the yard. She is usually not too interested in practicing walking on the uneven surface. So, tonight, I took out the Frisbee, hoping to entice her to walk to it after I threw it. It worked a few times and she was able to walk to the Frisbee, but other times, she would get distracted on her journey and stop to pick at the weeds and twigs. Of course no matter how many times I tell her "no" to eating the grass, etc...what does she still do???? She puts the grass in her mouth, then, spits it out and hands it to me. Silly girl!
"No Riley...Those are not bluebonnets!"
Hopefully tomorrow is a successful day of finishing up most of the unpacking (except the garage goods...that can wait for JD's return), because this weekend, I most definitely need to get started on some birthday planning...the big "1" is just around the corner!
