Daddy's Home

JD arrived home on Friday evening and Riley was in shock - literally. The look on her face that of disbelief when JD jumped into the backseat with her on Friday night. It was as if she was trying to tell if we were Skyping, or if this was the real thing! She sure did learn quickly that it was the real Daddy, and she was so excited that she did not settle down for bed until a little past 10:00 p.m.

We spent the weekend mostly doing projects around the house...hanging accessories, testing the sprinkler system and spraying bug spray on the yard. With the house being empty of the past 3 years, there have been some interesting creatures who have settled in and need to learn that a new family is in town. I even had a terrible dream last night that Riley picked one up and, of course, put it in her mouth. Needless to say, JD will be treating our yard like crazy before he leaves again for Germany.

Today we headed to the YMCA for a good afternoon workout. Riley had another agenda planned...poor thing cried like she hasn't cried before when we dropped her off at the child watch room. I think it is because JD was with us. They gave us about 30 min., then came to get us because Riley would just not settle down. So, we headed across the hall to Adventure Land for family time. Riley squealed with joy, as she played in the fully padded area full of large soft blocks and structures. What a treat after the trauma of separation anxiety!
The weekend was terrific! Riley and JD even enjoyed a little tailgate action as we played outside tonight.

Riley likes chasing down her "Dora" ball, but is easily distracted by anything laying on the ground, like leaves, mulch debris, or bugs.

Hi Sweetie,
I bet you were so glad to see your daddy and surprised too. You have fun playing and showing him all the new things that you have discovered since he was gone. Enjoy!!!!
Love,
Grammy
