It's hard to believe, but the subtle signs all added up to another trip to Dr. Davis' office. Earlier in the week, Riley would tug a bit at her left ear. However, as a rookie parent, since I didn't find Riley running a temp. or acting irritable in any way, I just made a mental note. Then, Tuesday and Wednesday night, she had the roughest time getting to sleep and staying asleep. She was up on and off for most of the two nights. Then, Mini Texans gave me a courtesy call this afternoon, as they too saw her tugging at her left ear, refusing on of her afternoon bottles and a few diaper changes that just didn't seem right. Luckily Dr. Davis was able to see her today and identified both ears with an infection and the need to prescribe another antibiotic! Hopefully, this one will take care of all of Riley's aches and pains and keep the blues away for a while.
Despite the ear infections, Riley has not lost too much of her appetite. As you can see, she absolutely loves peaches! Although the bites are slippery, she can now pinch each bite just right to feed herself. Every now and then she will get frustrated trying to pick up a piece, then end up squishing it like she does with her banana bites.
Bath time is still a favorite time of the day for Riley, yet has become very exhausting for me. She is quite active and the bathtub is no exception. Riley loves to splash the washcloth over the side of her little tub and drop her rubber duckies out of the tub, only to scramble to reach and put it back in the tub. Then, we don't dare try to get out of the tub until all of the water has gone down the drain, as this is the best part of the entire bath! Riley loves to watch the water go down the drain in her tub and then will often reach over her tub and splash the water as it is going down the regular bathtub drain. So, we wait, and watch, and wave bye-bye to the water.
We wish everyone a wonderful and safe weekend! Can't wait to travel home for the swim reunion next weekend and see everyone!
Love,
Karen and Riley
