So we thought Riley would come down the hallway and get very excited that Santa had left her goodies, but instead, she just calmly walked into the living room, straight to the tree to start checking out the gifts. First thing she spotted...a Dora plate (that wouldn't fit in her stocking with the bowl and cup set). She was thrilled. Then, the anticipation for more...only we made her wait until Zachary woke up (which was only another 10 min. max, 15 min. if you count the time it took for a quick Christmas morning pic).
Riley loved handing out the presents, and of course loved helping to open everyone's gifts. She was thrilled with the set of train tracks, but didn't quite understand the big box of play food (until we took her upstairs to see her new play kitchen...which she played in the rest of the day).
Zachary...he was so darn cute, as he concentrated to help open his gifts. Of course, once the package was open, he was totally into playing with the wrapping paper!
After presents, homemade blueberry pancakes, and some family play time, Zach was ready for a long mid-day nap, while Riley and Daddy bundled up for some adventures in the snow.
Of course, we haven't quite come to accept the fact that we don't live in San Antonio any longer...that we live in a city that does get snow every year. Needless to say, we were ill prepared for dressing our daughter for the fun - no snow boots or pants - but Ry didn't seem to mind. A few layers to help protect her from the cold and she could've played for hours in the frigid wet snow.
The mission: Building our own Frosty!
What an amazing day! Thanks to everyone for Skyping...we miss and love you all and can't wait to see you soon.
