Riley

Growing up right before our very eyes...
She loves, loves, loves jumping,
and reading,
but singing is by far, her all-time favorite pass-time!
What else has Riley been up to...
  • Taking off her own diaper at bath time...which totally resembles a "chip 'n dale" stripper taking off what little cover he might wear.
  • Totally into DORA! Dora in the morning, Dora in Daddy's truck when out and about on the weekends, Dora shoes that she spotted at the store (which kindly led to a first tantrum in a store that consisted to lying face down on the ground crying for Dora. I am just proud that we did not cave!)She even has Dora underwear, which she wants to wear sooo badly, but she is just not quite ready yet. So, we have begun to transition to Dora pull-ups, as she is beginning to potty more consistently before bath time.
  • Turning lights on and off, on and off, on and off...and when she can't reach a switch, she will use a toy to extend her reach.
  • A little bit of mischief...her teacher a daycare reported that she was blaming others for her actions. Boy oh boy...is this a topic for discussion as we drive to school in the mornings. She prefers to listen to her music, but when I get a report like this one, I have no choice but to give her reminders of her behavior as we drive to school in the mornings. This usually is enough to steer her right back on track.
  • Showing off her ever growing shy tendencies.
  • Eating deli turkey...actually going to the fridge herself and getting it out of the meat drawer. Who knew she would ever chosse turkey for a snack!
  • Sleeping in on the weekends, sometimes until 8:00 a.m., thus thinking she does not need a nap...actually lying down in bed, then spending an hour or more just singing and talking. A few times we have given in and just skipped the nap, and she does okay. (To be honest...Mommy and Daddy are not ready to give this up!)
  • Helping with laundry by matching the socks.
  • Building towers out of blocks.
  • Imitation play...feeding and diapering Elmo or her baby dolls when JD or I are tending to Zachary. She even likes taking her baby outside to play with on her swing set.
  • Constantly asking for a fire in the fire pit...the girl is addicted to roasting marshmallows...or is the Hershey's chocolate bar that we will sometimes bring out for smores. Of course, she has not even tried a smore...she just prefers the chocolate by itself!
  • Showing a lot more shy tendencies over the past 2 months.
  • Being our number one girl!
