Monkeying Around

Riley's 2nd birthday bash was a blast...complete with a theme that our sweet girl is crazy about...MONKEYS!

Piece of Cake Bakery in Colledgedale made us our Martha Stewart monkey cake, but Aunt Mary and I will take full credit for the monkey face cupcakes...which were a huge hit with the kids.

Kids of all sizes enjoyed the giant slide...

and then cooled off on this extremely hot August day, with ice cold grape snow cones!

The cute monkey pinata turned out to be a "dud", with the help of Daddy, the goodies inside found their way to the ground for all to enjoy. Once we showed the 2 year olds that they could pick up whatever they wanted and put in their goodie bag, they were all over their favorites. Despite the variety in the pinata, Riley ended up with about 10 bags of Scooby fruit snacks and only one DumDum sucker. Would you ever guess that she LOVES fruit snacks??!!

The grand finale...yummy cake...which as you can see...Riley had no problem devouring (unlike at her 1st birthday).

What a special day for our little Sweet Pea...and the very best part...she was spoiled with attention from all of her family and friends.

Riley was too sweet the entire day and even ended the party with hugs for all of her friends.

Thanks to Grammy, Aunt Mary and Nana for coming in early to help with all the preparations...from decorating, to stuffing goodies boxes, from helping organize food to taking great pics...We couldn't have had such a spectacular party with all of you!

The day after the party...Riley was wiped out! She cuddled up with her new Corduroy bear for almost a 3 hour nap.
