All Smiles

Riley and Zachary have been all smiles lately. Riley is definitely over her bout of strep throat and back in good spirits. She has been especially loving of Zach over the past few days, wanting to hold and kiss all over him...and even play pat-a-cake with him (which Zach adored). Just mentioning Dora these days brings a sparkle to Riley's eyes, so she has spent quite a bit of time exploring her Dora playhouse and tunnel from Aunt Mary and Grammy, along with playing with her Dora microphone, flashlight, books, and let's not forget her Dora beach towel (which has been serving as a blanket more than a towel over the past couple of weeks).

Zach is developing his own personality and is starting to interact and show expression more and more. He is so alert and curious, preferring to be held facing out, rather than being held to your shoulder, so he can see what is going on. He lights up when you talk to him with good eye contact and shares his sweet giggle from time to time.
He loves playtime and can now reach for toys and grasp them. Of course, most things he gets hold of end up going straight to his mouth. When he gets really excited, he starts giving raspberries and his little legs get to dancing in the air.

Sometimes I think about our "days before kids" and how relaxing life seemed then...but no matter how hectic our days are today, I couldn't imagine a day without the smiles (or even the tantrums) of our sweet Ry and Zach!!!
