4th of July Weekend

Our 4th of July was spectacular.

The weekend started off with a parade at Riley's daycare. I planned to only stay on the sidelines to take pictures, so she wouldn't see me and cry for mommy, but she was way to cute walking like a big girl, so Zach and I joined the class about 1/2 way through. Of course, by 3/4 of the journey, I was carrying both Ry and Zach (talk about an arm workout)!
After the parade, I went ahead and took Ry with me, and we headed to the Dr. with Zachary, just to have a cough checked out. With his aspiration, we wanted to be sure nothing was settling in his lungs which could lead to pneumonia...and thankfully all checkout out okay. We just have two little ones with a slight cold, which didn't stop us from lots of fun.
Saturday we celebrated our Father's Day. JD loved his homemade card from Riley and the Omaha Steaks that we grilled up.
Of course, JD and Riley had a ball experimenting with the dry ice from the shipping container.

We even enjoyed some colorful fireworks on Lake Chickamauga. They didn't start until 10:00 p.m., but Riley had a late nap that day, and was able to stay awake for the show. Zach took in the fresh air while we were waiting for it to get dark, but then slept through the fireworks, all the way home in the car, and throughout the entire night.
Lucky shot!

Yesterday we enjoyed some fun in the sun, as we went swimming at the outdoor pool at the Cleveland YMCA. It is a great find with a walk in pool, a water mushroom and fountains. Riley had a blast and even liked going in the deeper water for some "swim lessons". There was a great breeze yesterday, which made for a relaxing afternoon full of fresh air for Zach as we lounged under the giant shade umbrellas. It was a great ending to a great 3-day weekend!
