Good Times with Fam

This weekend Nana, Gramps, and Aunt Ashley made a special trip to Chattanooga to spend the day with us and help celebrate an early birthday for JD. We really wanted to take them to Rock City, but since temps on the mountain run about 10 degrees cooler than the city, we thought we better wait until their next trip when it's a little warmer. With the weather still very spring-like, we headed downtown for a trip through the infamous aquarium.

The penguins are always a favorite hot spot!

As are the glass domes hidden in the middle of some tanks,

and the shark cage!

But the icing on cake goes to the two petting tanks in the aquarium...one filled with stingray,

and the other filled with sturgeon. Riley is not shy about diving right into either one to explore the creatures swimming below the surface.

The window seats next to the many tanks are a good place to take a break along the way...especially as you get towards the end of the tour. I'm not sure who needed more of these breaks...Mommy or Riley????

After the aquarium we walked a couple of blocks for dinner at Taco Mac before heading home for cake to celebrate JD's birthday.

This was Aunt Ashley's first visit with us here in Chattanooga, but we are certain she will be back in a few months, so we can help her celebrate her 21st birthday!
