Zachary Dean at 18 months:
- Is full of energy from the time he wakes up until he crashes for nap time (which he still takes 2/day, short morning nap and a long 2-3 hour afternoon nap) or bed time. His favorite...playing outside. I think he would sleep outside if we let him. Zach doesn't care if it is raining or snowing, the boy loves the great outdoors. His fav outdoor toy, Riley's hand-me down pink buggy.
- Still absolutely adores the game peek-a-boo...best way to bring out his heart melting smiles.
- Loves to play with all of the drawers and cabinets...even the ones that are really off limits (but somehow he gets away with it).
- Is a bit dramatic...you should see the drama he displays when throwing a fit...hmmm, perhaps I should post the fit he threw when he was not allowed to have a DumDum sucker, because he didn't eat his dinner...
- Is jibber jabbering more and more and has developed more vocabulary including 2-3 word phrases...although his favorite which he literally just started saying is the infamous "no", which is quite cute the way he says it...very quick with emphasis on the "n".
- Has the best "Where is it" pose ever!
- Loves his baby. He also has a baby bear that is blue, but the pink doll (which used to be Riley's, is his absolute favorite lovie)! He is totally into snuggling, especially with his baby, but also with us. When he is in a snuggling mood, it is hard to let go...love my cuddly little boy!
- Is a total cartoon fanatic! His favorite...Bubble Guppies, followed closely by Dora and Diego. During the theme song for Bubble Guppies, he loves to jump up and down on the bed and then plop down on his bottom side. He will do this over and over again.
- Is part boy, part fish (as he adores the water), and part monkey! Zachary is all boy and that includes climbing on everything...
(He doesn't think twice about climbing on chairs and sitting in the middle of the table.)
(Since he loves buttons that beep, he would be one to discover just the slightest way to get closer the action!)
- Still hates diaper changes. You literally have to pin him down or give him the iPhone or some other techy gadget to keep him lying still, or he will put you in a leg lock and make a quick get-a-way. He gets such a good laugh out of it as we must look ridiculous chasing him around. Speaking of which...have I mentioned that he would love for you to chase him all day long...and he would laugh and giggle the entire time!
- Has a motto...what's good for the goose, is good for the gander...Zach is all about equality between Riley and himself. Riley gets to sit at the bar, Zach gets to sit at the bar. I just wish he understood bribery like Riley...as then maybe we could get this boy to eat. Although Zach is healthy and growing (32.5 inches; 22 lbs. 13 oz.), he doesn't have an appetite for much of anything, and rarely will sit still for an entire dinner with us. His fav foods include: yogurt, spaghetti, cereal, oatmeal, crackers, fruit, pizza, mashed potatoes, ice cream and white powdered donuts. There are very few other foods that we can get out sweet boy to even try. (I am sure in time though, this will change.)
Z-man, we love you more and more withe every passing day and cannot imagine life without you. You truly make our family complete!
