We are so lucky to have a very nice neighborhood pool...and literally just across the street and two lots down from our house. It is super convenient...actually probably a bit close, as you can even hear the waterfall from our yard (which is a little frightening, considering we have a 2 year old little dare-devil who loves, loves, love the water).
This summer the pool has not only offered us a refreshing, cool place to hang out on the weekends, but also during the week. JD and I love rushing home on hot, sunny evenings to meet the kids at the pool (and we have found that this is a great way to drain their energy, so bedtime routine is a bit easier).
In just a matter of 3 weeks of pool time fun, Riley and Zachary have really grown into little fish.
Riley has gone from holding onto us the entire time in deep water, to wearing a life vest and floaties, to wearing just floaties on her own, and now even jumping in and going under water. She is off on her own and probably ready for swim lessons to really encourage her skills.
Zachary, our little dare-devil can also get around with just a simple pair of floaties...quite amazing for just turning 2 a month ago. He also loves to jump in the water, deep end, shallow end...if he goes under...it is no problem. Every now and then he will choke up a little water, but for the most part Zach is part fish and doesn't mind water in his face or going under for a few seconds.

Friday nights at the pool are the perfect time for delivery pool side...after all, swimming sure does work up an appetite! Z...has devoured up to 2 whole slices after an evening of splashing around!
So glad summer is here...It really is the best time of the year!
