Fall is in the Air

A fall tradition for our family...Guthrie Pumpkin Farm...never disappointing. In fact, this year, there were even more surprises than ever...pony rides, giant slides, cattle roping. It was a picture perfect day with a twist of the unpredictable when you have two toddlers on the go.
Photographing Ry and Z together and capturing a picture perfect moment...well...chances are slim. Perfect setting, not such perfect synchronization of perkiness.
The tire maze was bigger and more fun for adventuring through. Too bad our sweeties found the dry dirt more exciting!
Zachy roping! Yes, our little man can be quite the bull that needs to be tamed from time to time.
Riley and Zach took a bit of time to warm up to the petting farm. Once Ry discovered there were bunnies, she was tickled pink.
The corn maize was maybe a bit ambitious for such little ones, but we probably made it 1/2 way before turning back down the same path that brought us to where we were.

We started off strong...
but at the time both want to be carried, we knew it was time to hit the pumpkin patch then head home.
Can you tell we were way beyond nap time???
Pumpkin hunting was interesting...the ground was hard and quite lumpy, with lots of low spots, perfect for catching the feet of our toddlers. After both bit the ground hard, coming up with grass stains and the looks of dirt for lunch, it was time to make a mad dash for the perfect pumpkins.
I think Zach grabbed the first one he saw.

However, it took Ry a bit longer to find just the right one that she could carry and call her own.
Since there were no teeny, tiny finds in the patch, we hit crates of munching pumpkins before checking out.
After lunch on the go in the van (Riley loves, loves, loves those Lunchables), our sweet little pumpkins enjoyed one long, late afternoon nap. It really was the most wonderful fall day.
