We hit the zoo, which Riley was excited to see her favorite zoo animal...the elephants. She is really into trumpeting like an elephant these days, which is a bit over-the-top, but always makes Zach laugh.
Zach was intrigued by the goats at the petting zoo and with a little coaching from Dad, finally gave into petting them. He is lucky the goats were rather mellow in the heat of the afternoon, especially since he found it most fun to tug on their big, floppy ears.
Although the zoo was a blast, the temps in Chattanooga are already hitting the upper 90's, so after Daddy finished mowing the yard, the kids and I found a cool place to chill out.
Riley was squealing with excitement to go swimming in her pool...and Zachary...he is a natural born WATER BUG! Our little man has no fear what-so-ever (not sure this is good or bad just yet)! He was climbing up the slide, down the slide, over the edge-head first-into the deeper wading pool, face under water...and loving every minute.
Sum, sum, summer time...love it! We just can't wait for our new neighborhood pool to open next month.
