Easter weekend we made and eventful round trip visit to family. First stop, Aunt Amy's and Uncle Mike's for a big family celebration and surprise for Nana and Gramps...as they didn't know we were coming.
It was quite the road trip, not only because of the non-stop rain for three straight days, but also because our 11 month old rambunctious baby boy...turned out to be quite the grumpy little bunny for his first Easter. Yes...don't let this sweet, peaceful sleeper fool you. There was fussing from the time we put him in his new big boy car seat on Friday evening, until 1:00 a.m. Monday morning, when we rolled back into our driveway here at home. (Such a home-body!)
Aunt Amy had a wonderful lunch followed by an egg hunt for both the kids and adults. She spoiled Riley with lots of mini bubbles which Riley will be blowing all summer long.

Saturday evening we drove to Grammy's house to celebrate Easter Sunday. It was such a treat to see Aunt Mary, Aunt Cindy, Uncle Chris and Ethan. The kids had a great time together, especially during the Easter Bunny and egg hunt.

Riley's treasures.
Zachary snoozed during the official egg hunt, but didn't seem to mind playing with the eggs once gathered together in one basket.
We had a great day together, playing Wii inside, as the rain continued to fall outside.
I had planned to stay until Monday with the kids, and JD was to fly back on Sunday, however, we had a change of heart considering the grumpy funk that Zachary could not shake. So, we decided to hit the road together as a family around 8:00 p.m., which was the best decision we could have made.
Monday evening we had a wonderful dinner on the back patio, followed by a little treasure hunt for what the Easter Bunny left for Ry and Zach while away.
